Chris Maloney trained first in General Practice, and then in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Leicester and Oxford. He was Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy in Ascot and Slough 1994-1999, setting up and running a new NHS Psychotherapy service, and a Professional Training and M.Sc. in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

Committed to working with both body and mind, he became Partner in a busy Hackney General Practice in 1999, and worked for 13 years as a GP in the NHS, in addition to his private practice as Consultant Psychiatrist.

Enhancing his work as a psychiatrist, he is a UKCP registered Psychotherapist, experienced in Psychodynamic, Cognitive Analytic and Cognitive Behavioural therapy, and in Couple and Group work.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) and a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRCGP).

Dr Maloney is approved by the Secretary of State under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act, and an Approved Clinician under the Act.

He is a Member of the Independent Doctors’ Federation, and a Member of the Expert Witness Institute.  He is an Affiliate Member of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians.
